Hurricanes and Depression Considered

Author: Lance Winslow

During the 2005 Atlantic tropical hurricane season we heard that many psychologists had an abundance of people coming in who were overly depressed due to the bad weather and/or the fact that they have lost loved ones or could not handle it or go back home because their city was destroyed or devastated by a major category hurricane.

The emotional scars that are often caused by huge mother nature events and disasters can be intensive. It is very important for psychologists to handle these issues of Depression and even more important that people do not let Depression get to them just because of the hurricane season.

Hurricanes are not going away anytime soon and the 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season will be a big one and it will cause similar emotional scars for human beings that live on the Gulf Coast, in the great state of Florida and even along the Eastern Seaboard.

There will be towns and cities, which are destroyed or devastated that are close to the water due to storm surges and high winds. Hurricanes and depression must be considered, as Depression is part of the human condition and it needs to be kept to a minimum to insure a strong immune system and a healthy human mind. Please considered as the 2006.
