Back Pain: 6 Questions to Find the Real Cause

Author: Rod Sherwin

Did you know that most people that suffer from back pain show no physical reason for the pain; there are know slipped disks, there are no damaged vertebrae, there was no accident that caused the pain. So what is the cause?

Modern medicine is now starting to acknowledge that there is an emotional component to physical pain that up till now has not been addressed. Once this emotional component is cleared the physical pain is often relieved or completely gone. Physical treatments, if still required, are then either permanent or longer lasting.

So how do you identify the emotional cause of the pain? Ask yourself, or even better have someone that you trust, ask the following questions:

  • When did the pain first start?
  • What was happening in your life at this time?
  • What time in your life does this pain remind you of?
  • Who does this pain remind you of?
  • How old were you when you started having this pain?
  • Is there someone you need to forgive for this pain?

If your answer to one of the questions is "I don't know", then ask the question "I know you don't know and if you had to guess what would it be?" Often our guesses are very accurate, we just need to get past the conscious mind which maybe doesn't like the answer.

Often just talking about and exploring the answers to the above questions will provide some pain relief. To go even further and completely resolve the pain, I recommend the Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) which are an innovative approach to healing that often gets results when nothing else works. Find out more about EFT here.
