Have you noticed in your life when you do things in the wrong order that usually things do not come out right and you also find that you have wasted a lot of time you did not need to waste? Consider if you will abatement issues and how these must be done in a certain order. Recently I noticed a number of government contracts that were awarded locally to various companies and they included abatement. One was for the abatement of mosquitoes and another one was for the abatement of dried brush and weeds for fire season. Now then it is much cheaper and less work to remove the dried brush and weeds prior to the abatement of mosquitoes. Because once that is removed there is less to spray and that means less poisons in the environment. The mosquitoes do not care because they're going to die anyway and spraying insecticide on weeds might actually help them grow. I hope this makes sense to other people because both of these contracts that were awarded sure cost the taxpayer a lot of money. As it turns out some workers who were doing the abatement of the dried brush and weeds got sick and the cause was the insecticide. When talking to the mosquito abatement company they said that it cost them more money and took more time to do the job right since it was a heavily vegetative area. We need to be careful to insure that government agencies work together, work more efficiently with our money and use more commonsense on abatement issues. Consider this in 2006. |
