Why Do My Kids Always Seem So Bad

Author: Nick Young

Have you ever wondered why your kids are so good at playing up. Ever wondered why they hardly ever are good on their own but always tend to the opposite extreme. It's as if being naughty just comes naturally for them and being good. Well, that is a major hassle.

I remember reading some interesting stuff once when I was deep into some theology. It started me thinking and seemed to make sense. You see, one of the major strains of theology teaches that we are all born tending to be naturally bad instead of naturally good. And when you look at young kids it almost makes sense. Kids have to be taught everything good and useful while being bad and destructive seems to come naturally.

Now, that is getting a bit heavy. How do they explain this. They reckon that since Adam and Eve messed up big time in that famous garden, something happened to the human race and is still happening today. That is, we are all born with this inherant badness or a nature that tends to bad instead of good. So that is why all kids from the earliest of ages need to be taught how to be a functional part of society. You don't have to teach them to be naughty. It just comes naturally. So now we have a heavy burden as a parent. Some of us let our kids be and just hope that they will turn out ok. Now we know that unless they get some teaching from somewhere they are going to be forever in trouble with that naturally bad nature.

Ok then, so lets look at this some more. So we are born naturally bad but have some good parents and now have learned all the stuff we need to act good instead of bad, right. Now we live life being good but our nature is still inclined to bad. Does that explain the temporary relapse of a perfectly good person who does something really bad right out of his normal character. I mean in a sudden fit of temper he bashes his kids or his wife or shoots someone. Could this be that old character coming to the fore and over riding all the learned stuff.

This is starting to get a bit heavy and even scarey. Is there some way that we can cancel out that old nature that we were born with and start over with a completely different nature. A really interesting and 'nice' nature would seem to be a more comfortable way to live this life. Well it can happen and does happen and there are lots of people making that change every day. And is not hard to do so if that sounds like you, start asking around until you come across someone who has made that change. I am sure they will be more than happy to show you how to go about it. Go for it. You will be glad you did. Best of luck. Nick
