Why Does Anyone Listen to Politicians?

Author: Scott Bianchi

Anyone who has read any of my articles knows that I write about many different topics. As much as I was trying to avoid it I am now going to write about one thing that really bothers me, politics in America. I heard Hillary Clintons speech the other day where she claims that the Bush Administration would go down as one of the worst to ever run this country.

This is an example of what I do not like about politics. She is clearly positioning herself for a run at the White House in 2008. So she, just like most politicians, is going to attack the current administration to try and make herself look good. The problem is people buy into this propaganda.

Assuming the President is responsible for all the problems of the country, which he is not, some of the problems she is blaming Bush for are a direct result of what her husband did not do when he was President. He had Osama Bin Laden caught and let him go. If he had held onto him then 9/11 may never have happened, which means the current war may not have happened. There is no way to know for sure if they would not have but it is safe to say that Osama Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11 and the war in Iraq is related to the harboring terrorists and threat on America issues that Bush discussed in his speech after 9/11.

As far as Bush being responsible for the budget deficit, that is ridiculous. Bush cannot spend a dime of the Americans money without approval from the Congress. Bush also went to, and got approval for, going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq. If am not mistaken, Hillary Clinton had a vote on the war and each and every one of the spending increases Bush requested. If she didnt agree with them she should have worked harder to get the other 500+ members of Congress to take her side.

Over the last number of years I have done a lot of research on how the government spends their money in addition to some other laws. For example, I bet most people did not know that Congress is responsible for approving their own raises. Yes, that is correct. The people that are responsible for spending our money for the last 100 years, totaling close to $8 TRILLION in debt, decide on their pay increases. Essentially that is like going to your auto mechanic for repairs in giving him your check book and letting him decide how much he wants. They are spending your money and not doing it wisely. What should really happen is the people should have to vote on their pay increases. If we do not feel they are doing a job worthy of a pay increase then we vote NO.

The governments budget is available on the internet via the White House website. The White House has predicted that our national debt will be roughly $10.5 TRILLION by 2009. So, in 3 years they are predicting they will spend $2.5 trillion more than they have. I do not have all my research in front of my so this number may be off a bit but the budget for to operate the White House is $40 million a year. The first family is given $100,000 just for decorations every year. In the 8 years Hillary Clinton was the first lady she had $800,000 to spend on decorations for a house that is 200 years old. How many more decorations does it need? My point in all this is that there are homeless people in this country and our leader and his family spend $100,000 just on decorations. That money could be used to feed the homeless people.

Politicians stand up election after election and promise things that they never deliver on. We are always hearing of Education Reform but the education continues to get caught when budgets are reduced. Our government was designed to give everyone a voice. It was designed to give everyone equal opportunity. But the Republicans and Democrats have made that a distant memory. They use our tax money to help fund the presidential elections for their parties and yet no other parties are entitled to the same money, nor are they even allowed to participate in the debates.

I will be writing many articles about politics over the coming months in an attempt to re-educate the people on how our government was designed to run and show them how it is actually being run. Hopefully people will start to see that people like John Kerry, who is a billionaire and claims to be For the Working People, are just a bunch of frauds.

And one final thought to leave you considering. Why are Senators with criminal histories and a lack of morals allowed to question the character of potential Supreme Court Justices? Who are they to judge? The whole system is just distorted and messed up.
