The Complete Guide to Choosing the Right Shoes and Boots to Wear with Jeans

Author: Shelley Costello

When you get the right shoes and boots to wear with your jeans you can completely transform your appearance. This guide gives you all you need to know and which shoe or boot looks best with which particular style of jeans.

Lets start with the jeans.

Hipster, boot cut, low rise, straight, flared, cropped, ultra low rise, wide leg, retro, western the styles are endless.

There are some fundamental rules you should apply to choosing which shoes or boots to wear with particular styles of jeans.

Any style jean that has legs that are either flared or wide look far better worn with the following shoe or boot styles

Low or flat heel boots
Running shoes, tennis shoes or trainers
Flat or low wedge heel shoes

This style of jeans look really good with biker style boots or another example would be Rockport or Caterpillar style boots.

Any style jean that has straight legs or slightly flared look good worn with

Shoes with any heel height and in any style
Boots with any heel height

If you can choose a jean that are hipster or low/ultra low rise they usually have a slight flare to the leg and look really good with high heels of any kind the higher the heel the better because they will make your legs appear far longer than they actually are.

If you dont like high heels try a wedge heel because they are easier to walk in. Another alternative is to go for a kitten heel which has only a couple of inches to the heel.

Straight leg jeans work really well worn with knee high boots when the jeans are tucked into the boot itself.

The overall look can then be dressed up or down with the top you choose to wear.

Faded or light blue jeans look really good with white boots or shoes and teamed with maybe a classic white shirt or t shirt/long sleeved top.

Other colours that look good with faded or lighter jeans are black, greens, browns and earthy tones.

Darker denim looks really good against pink and brighter colours.

Vintage or distressed jeans look good with white or black and team well with plain black or white shirts.

If you fancy something different why not try a cowboy boot. Cowboy boots will look good with your straighter legged jeans tucked in or worn under your flared hipster or boot cut jeans. Cowboy boots add a subtle sexyness to any outfit and will make you feel a million dollars whenever you wear them!

Dont always go for black or brown boots, dare to be different and try white, green or maybe pink.
