As we watch the online article submission websites spring up we see a little bit of competition with authors and writers for seeing who can top out their specific category with articles. Some of the more robust websites have listed the top ten articles by category. This is a pretty good idea and it shows who is writing on which topics. It would make sense for online article submission sites to continue such a system and one would have to ask if there is a way to figure out how far down the list an author or writer is on each category so they can write enough articles in each category to make it to let us say the top 5-7 out of the top 10 spots. Recently I went to a website and just went thru the entire list of categories and some of the 1-10 spots you need 25 articles just to get on the list. Yet, as an author; I cannot even be sure if I have 6, 10 or 24 articles already written meaning I might only have to write a few articles to get onto many of the lists you see? Then I know where best concentrate my efforts to kick everyone's butt in the quantity of article written; if that makes sense? You see, I firmly believe that to increase the number of articles on a website that there needs to be a little competition out there. Anyway authors should be able to at least get a printout or have emailed to them how many in each category or their ranking in each category with the number of articles even if it were say 35 down the list with 9 articles. Each author on an online article submission site would then know exactly where they stand you see. This would propel them to get busy to write a few more articles. See what I am saying? Consider this in 2006. |
