Relationship Trouble: Lack of Fun

Author: Jeff Herring

I guess it could be said that the couple that laughs and plays together stays together. It's hard to grow apart when you are laughing and having fun together.

Lack of fun is a serious type of relationship trouble, and is one sure to drain the life out of even the best of relationships.

We all tend to get caught up in the daily grind of jobs and bills and kids and chores, etc. When this happens, getting stuck in a rut and simply forgetting about having fun as a couple is all too frequently the result.

I've said this before and I'll say it often because I think we need reminding: the only difference between a rut and a grave is the dimensions.

How to have fun again

If you find yourself in this un-fun situation in your love relationship, here is a simple way to begin to repair the situation.

I'm inviting each of you to write down 10 different things that you either once did for fun, would like to do for fun, or both.

Then each week, pick one item from the list and commit the time to doing it together.

I know that sounds so simple. I guess I could make it more complicated for you, but why?
